REGISTRATION FORM

The most flattering garments we can wear are those that fit us well. If you are not a "perfect" pattern size any longer (or never were) and are frustrated with sewing garments that don't fit, this workshop is for you. Learn from my 40 years of experience fitting custom clients and students, get patterns that fit, and gain the know-how to make the pattern adjustments you need.

Choose patterns from any pattern company. We'll take the necessary body measurements and determine what size or sizes are right for you. Learn how to alter a single size pattern or take advantage of multi-sized patterns.

Cut out or trace your patterns onto tissue and then pin together to tissue fit. Try on the paper - you'll be amazed at how much you can see in paper. Learn how to identify where any fitting problems are and how to adjust for them in the paper pattern before you ever cut into your fabric. We'll address altering for rounded or flat backs, broad, narrow or forward shoulders, full busts, full upper arms and more.

Then learn how to translate paper fit into fabric fit. Take at least one pattern into fabric and learn how to fine tune the fit. With your confidence boosted, you will be ready to sew up some great fitting garments.

If you would like more time to sew your newly fitted patterns, stay the weekend and attend the Weekend Sewing Retreat March 22-24. Register for both workshops for $895 – a $95 savings!

You may bring your own sewing machine or arrange with Marla to borrow one.

Workshops begin each morning at 9AM and finish at 5PM with a one hour lunch break. Dine at one of many favorite local restaurants within walking distance of the hotel.

The classroom is available to you in the evening and will be locked securely overnight.

This workshop will be limited to 8 students to ensure individual attention. A $100 non-refundable deposit will reserve a space for you.

Workshop will be held at the Hilton Garden Inn – Portland/Lake Oswego, located at 14850 Kruse Oaks Drive, Lake Oswego, OR 97035. Accommodations are available at the Hilton Garden Inn. You will be sent a booking link for the Hilton Garden Inn or other information about room discounts after you register.

To reserve your space, please send the registration form and a check for either the $100 non-refundable deposit or the total fee. The balance is due February 14, 2024. Please make checks payable to Marla Kazell. Return form to:

CANCELLATIONS

For cancellations made 30 days prior to the workshop or earlier, any fees received (beyond the $100 non-refundable deposit) will be refunded or transferred to another workshop. There are no refunds or transfers for cancellations made less than 30 days prior to the workshop. Workshops may be canceled if minimum enrollment is not obtained 30 days prior to workshop. All deposits and fees will then be refunded.
