REGISTRATION FORM

Start your outfits with casual t-shirts, shirts and tops that suit your lifestyle. Comfortable, but not sloppy. Choose tops that show off your personal style and don't look like everyone else. And sew tops that fit you perfectly!

Identify your personal style – from simple and classic to more avant garde and trendy. Choose your favorite top patterns from Marcy Tilton, Pati Palmer, Sewing Workshop or any of the other independent pattern companies. Pick your favorite fabrics – jersey knits, cotton lawns, rayon, linen or silk.

Whatever you choose, Marla will assist you in getting a great fitting pattern and will show you techniques to get the best results for necklines, collars, sleeves, plackets and finishing.

Stick with the pattern or put your own personal spin on the design by making some easy changes. Try an asymmetrical design, color blocking or mixing prints and fabrics. Draft new necklines or collars, incorporate the Koos slicing technique, add fun details to a basic button down shirt or do some dart manipulation.

Marla will consult with you on your pattern and fabric choices before class. Send a wish list of techniques you would like to learn. Share pictures or photos that inspire you and fabrics or patterns you would like to sew. Your questions and projects will be incorporated into the lessons to make this workshop unique to you.

You may bring your own sewing machine or arrange with Marla to borrow one.

Workshops begin each morning at 9AM and finish at 5PM with a one hour lunch break. Dine at one of many favorite local restaurants within walking distance of the hotel.

The classroom is available to you in the evening and will be locked securely overnight.

This workshop will be limited to 8 students to ensure individual attention. A $100 non-refundable deposit will reserve a space for you.

Workshop will be held at the Hilton Garden Inn – Portland/Lake Oswego, located at 14850 Kruse Oaks Drive, Lake Oswego, OR 97035. Accommodations are available at the Hilton Garden Inn. You will be sent a booking link for the Hilton Garden Inn or other information about room discounts after you register.

To reserve your space, please send the registration form and a check for either the $100 non-refundable deposit or the total fee. The balance is due April 11, 2024. Please make checks payable to Marla Kazell. Return form to:

CANCELLATIONS

For cancellations made 30 days prior to the workshop or earlier, any fees received (beyond the $100 non-refundable deposit) will be refunded or transferred to another workshop. There are no refunds or transfers for cancellations made less than 30 days prior to the workshop. Workshops may be canceled if minimum enrollment is not obtained 30 days prior to workshop. All deposits and fees will then be refunded.
