REGISTRATION FORM

You want casual clothes that suit your lifestyle. Comfortable, but not sloppy. You want clothes that show off your personal style - not clothes that look like everyone else. And you want clothes that fit you perfectly. That's casual couture!

This class will focus on putting together casual tops and bottoms. T-shirts, tops, tunics, shirts, blouses, skirts, pants and even dresses. Choose your personal style – do you prefer simple and classic, or more avant garde and trendy? What are your favorite fabrics – jersey or ponte knits, denim, cottons, rayon or linen? Are you ready to try some new patterns and need help with fitting?

Choose your projects then put your personal spin on the design. Learn to make fun and easy design changes. Try an asymmetrical design, color blocking, or mixing patterns and prints. Draft new necklines or collars, incorporate the Koos slicing technique, add fun details to a basic button down shirt, or do some dart manipulation and create interesting princess seams.

Learn to add great pockets to skirts, taper or widen pant legs, choose from several elastic waist applications, or sew the perfect dress to dress up or down. Morning lessons will be followed by afternoon sewing time. Fill in the gaps of your wardrobe with the perfect casual couture tops and bottoms.

Marla will consult with you on your pattern and fabric choices before class. Send a wish list of techniques you would like to learn. Share pictures or photos that inspire you and fabrics or patterns you would like to sew. Your questions and projects will be incorporated into the lessons to make this workshop unique to you.

You may bring your own sewing machine or arrange with Marla to borrow one.

Workshops begin each morning at 9AM and finish at 5PM with a one hour lunch break. Dine at one of many favorite local restaurants within walking distance of the hotel.

The classroom is available to you in the evening and will be locked securely overnight.

This workshop will be limited to 8 students to ensure individual attention. A $100 non-refundable deposit will reserve a space for you.

Workshop will be held at the Hilton Garden Inn – Portland/Lake Oswego, located at 14850 Kruse Oaks Drive, Lake Oswego, OR 97035. Accommodations are available at the Hilton Garden Inn. You will be sent a booking link for the Hilton Garden Inn or other information about room discounts after you register.

CANCELLATIONS

For cancellations made 30 days prior to the workshop or earlier, any fees received (beyond the $100 non-refundable deposit) will be refunded or transferred to another workshop. There are no refunds or transfers for cancellations made less than 30 days prior to the workshop. Workshops may be canceled if minimum enrollment is not obtained 30 days prior to workshop. All deposits and fees will then be refunded.
