REGISTRATION FORM

You want casual clothes that suit your lifestyle. Comfortable, but not sloppy. You want clothes that show off your personal style - not clothes that look like everyone else. And you want clothes that fit you perfectly. That's casual couture!

This class will focus on casual jackets. Whether you need it to ward off the chill from AC or the weather, or you just like that finishing piece to tie together an outfit, a jacket is the perfect garment. And there's a casual jacket style for everyone. Choose a chore jacket, a bomber jacket, a shirt jacket or any other style you like.

Make your jacket in any fabric from wool to silk, cotton or linen. Get a great fitting pattern and then learn techniques to make it your own. Try quilting, the Koos slicing technique, raw edge lapped seams or adding a Hong Kong finish. Learn to make simple pattern variations, add pockets and unique buttonholes, make it lined or unlined. Morning lessons will be followed by afternoon sewing time. Add the perfect casual couture jacket to your wardrobe.

I will consult with you on your pattern and fabric choices before class. Let me know what techniques you would like to learn. Share pictures or photos that inspire you. Your questions and projects will be incorporated into the lessons to make this workshop just for you.

You may also want to get a head start by scheduling a private pattern fitting session before the workshop begins. Contact me to schedule your appointment.

You may bring your own sewing machine or arrange with Marla to borrow one.

Workshops begin each morning at 9AM and finish at 5PM with a one hour lunch break. Dine at one of many favorite local restaurants within walking distance of the hotel.

The classroom is available to you in the evening and will be locked securely overnight.

This workshop will be limited to 8 students to ensure individual attention. A $100 non-refundable deposit will reserve a space for you.

Workshop will be held at the Hilton Garden Inn – Portland/Lake Oswego, located at 14850 Kruse Oaks Drive, Lake Oswego, OR 97035. Accommodations are available at the Hilton Garden Inn. You will be sent a booking link for the Hilton Garden Inn or other information about room discounts after you register.

To reserve your space, please send the registration form and a check for either the $100 non-refundable deposit or the total fee. The balance is due August 22, 2024 Please make checks payable to Marla Kazell. Return form to:

If you prefer to pay with a credit card, email the registrant information to marla@marlakazell.com. You will be sent an invoice.

CANCELLATIONS

For cancellations made 30 days prior to the workshop or earlier, any fees received (beyond the $100 non-refundable deposit) will be refunded or transferred to another workshop. There are no refunds or transfers for cancellations made less than 30 days prior to the workshop. Workshops may be canceled if minimum enrollment is not obtained 30 days prior to workshop. All deposits and fees will then be refunded.
